Raspberry season at Porter’s Patch starts sometime in beg. July
Raspberry Pick Your Own (PYO) procedures – what to expect when arrive at the farm
Drive to farm & find a parking spot
Admission to the farm is $5 per carload to be paid when checking out with your berries
Proceed with your group to the Farm Store pay window & check in with Troy
Choose a container – options are pick in pints @ $tbd ea. or a gallon pail @ $tbd ea. (holds 9 pints heaped)
Walk down to picking patch – find a place to pick, choose anywhere (far ends are a good place to start) pick nice colored deeper red raspberries, not pinkish & should pull easy from stems – a lot hang low, so you do have to bend over or kneel – you must open up canes to find the hidden ones behind the leaves – if raspberries are hard to the touch with finger tips, it’s NOT ripe or if your getting a lot of stems with your raspberries, they are NOT ripe – PLEASE don’t pick these
PYO hours are 8 a.m. to noon on select days.
Pre – Picked Raspberries are $TBD per Pint – we do take orders & fill on our schedule & call when ready for pickup
