Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Here’s how to enjoy those pumpkin seeds.

  1. Start with 2 cups of pumpkin seeds.  You can also use any winter squash, like acorn squash, spaghetti squash, butternut, delicate, Hubbard, etc.
  2. Soak seeds in water for about 8 hours.  This makes the seeds easier to eat and with less sharp pieces.  Drain well and use a dishtowel to dry the seeds the best you can.  Seeds will stick to the towel, but you can pick them off.
  3. Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.  This will keep from burning the seeds.
  4. Mix seeds with 1 1/2T of melted butter and 1 1/2T of Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Sprinkle liberally with salt.  NOTE: You can also try Seasoning Salt, chili powder, chipotle seasoning, paprika, or your favorite spices.
  6. Spread seeds in an even layer in a jelly roll pan.  Place in oven.
  7. Bake for one hour, stirring a couple of times.
  8. Store pumpkin seeds in an airtight container.

Enjoy!

Pick Your Own Strawberries Bonduel WI Jan 2017

Hello Friends of the Farm –

It seems like a long way to spring, but before you know it, everything will be growing and green again. The strawberry fields are safely resting under tons of straw and will stay even warmer under some more snow cover. We have ordered all our strawberry plants for 2017 and will arrive in early April. We have 12,500 plants for the new field, which is about 1.5 acres. Every year we take out a field from production and replace it with a newly planted field in another area. We always rotate our crops and with strawberries, a field will stay out of production for at least five years. Think Strawberries! Strawberry picking at the Farm usually starts about mid-June and only last 2 to 3 weeks. We offer both pre picked and pick your own strawberries during our season. Strawberries are sold by the pound for you pick and by the quart for we pick strawberries. The fields from the u pick strawberries are accessible from your vehicle, can’t get any easier than that. The Strawberry Farm is located a short distant from the Fox Valley, only 20 minutes from Green Bay, 25 minutes for Strawberry Picking Appleton area, 18 miles from Clintonville, and a very short drive from Hortonville, Neenah, and Suamico areas. Fresh Peas (edible pods and garden shucking types) will also be available for picking around the Strawberry season, along with pre picked peas.
